-what are some good songs to play for teens? like popular songs and artists:

Anything that is clean, fun, with a good beat will be a hit.

-should we have a theme? if so what themes can you think of?:

A luau

Beach fun

A night to remember: Seriously, you are going into highschool! Do a memory themed party, with things like doing a slide show of different photos people give about there favorite times in JH.

Tha Avengers: Just say'in, it would be awesome if someone used Loki's scepter as a Limbo stick ;)

The Hunger Games! It would be kinda funny considering yall have all the food you could eat ;)

Anything else that is popular right now

-should we have any activities set up? like maybe make our own photo booth or something?:

A photo booth is great! Get some funny props for people to get there photo's taken with :).

Water Balllons, scuirt guns, a dance off.

Or:

Have a limbo compitition

A Hula hoop competition where the players have to wear a hula skirt ;)

Marco Polo

Colors: You select one person to be on the diving bored. Everyone else picks a color in there head, and stays at the end of the pool where the diving boared person is, and the person on the diving bored starts yelling out colors with there eyes closed. When the person calls your color, you try to swim to the opposite side of the pool without them catching you! For if they think they hear someone, they open there eyes, and if they are right they start swimming after you. If ya get tagged by 'em, you're it!

Jumping contest: See who can do the coolest dive, cannon ball, ect.

Apple bobbing.

Have everyone do the mocarana! (I have no idea if I spelled that right...)

-party favors?

bubbles with graduation hats, chocolate, starbucks gift card, the photo, cake pops, nail Polish, homemade lip gloss, or anything that will go with the theme.

-are there any other tips or advice I should know of? I want this to be an awesome party that everyone will remember :)

Have fun, and mingle with your guests.

Do not give make-overs by the pool...lol ;)

Tell everyone to clean after themselves or you will be miserable afterwords!

Take a group picture before the party is over.

Hope it helps! Congrats :)

Beach and pool parties are particularly good teen party choices. These parties can be sophisticated as well as fun. Here are some of our favorite ideas for throwing a stylish teen birthday party with a beach or pool theme.

Fun with food: Small bites such as pigs in the blanket, pizza pinwheels, skewered appetizers (shown above), sliders, and other finger foods are a teen favorite. They are quick and easy to eat while mingling by the pool or water. They are often very easy to make (check out our list of great teen party recipes).

Smoothies are another great way to keep the kids cool and keep with the theme. Choose a few different signature combinations to serve (see our great ideas for smoothies). For some added sophistication, ask the birthday boy or girl to select a few great names for the signature smoothies.

Simple desserts: Set up a beautiful candy buffet and allow the guests to fill beach or pool themed bags with a variety of delicious sweets. This more sophisticated “goodie bag,” is sure to make your party even more special and make you a “cool” mom. Click here to get the goodie bags pictured above.

Sophisticated, fun decorations: Choose stylish decorations that bring out the kid in everyone. Use beach balls, beach buckets, sea shells, and other themed decorations like those shown to create a fun atmosphere.

My friend and I want to throw a pool party the afternoon of our 8th grade graduation ceremony. We were thinking to have it around 1 o'clock. We are going to have just girls (no boys) and were starting to think of who to invite and what music to play. We are going to make It a potluck, so my friend and I don't have to make our parents pay a lot for everything. So I have a few questions, maybe could I get some advice to make it the best pool party? I have thrown a few in the past and they weren't that fun haha so these are the questions:

-what are some good songs to play for teens? like popular songs and artists

-should we have a theme? if so what themes can you think of?

-should we have any activities set up? like maybe make our own photo booth or something?

-party favors?

-are there any other tips or advice I should know of? I want this to be an awesome party that everyone will remember :)

thank you guys so much!!! this will help a ton :D
