Athletic coach problem?

It is his right to kick you off. If you can only make half the practices you aren't putting in the time commitment the others are and its not fair to the other players if you get to play while they made the time commitment and you didn't. Its the same thing with all sports teams, can't make the practices than either your not playing in the games or your off the team. You need to decide between your job or sports, or find a job that fits your schedule.

Well you have to see which is more important to you. Talk to your boss at your job. They will probably understand and try to work out a schedule with you. Don't get an attitude or mad. Try to come to a compromise. You might end up missing a few practices but you'll probably still be on the team.

He is in charge of the team, so if he requires attendance and you need the job, then you need to make the decision as to what is more important to you, not just now but in the future.

If there's an attendance policy as far as a minimum number of practices you need to attend, and you're not meeting the minimum criteria, then yes, he certainly can kick you off the team, and replace you with someone who is more willing to make the necessary time commitment. The decision is ultimately yours though.

I am a 17 yr old jr football player and I have a job and my coach is threatening to kick me out and put me in P.E. because I can only show up to half of the summer workouts.

He is always saying summer workouts is more important then having a job and if I choose my job over football summer workouts he.is going to kick me out.

Is this right for him to kick me out because I have a job?
