Well, we can hope, but I see your point. The Mosley/Mayweather fight was 10 years and two weight classes to late, the Pacquio fight never happened, so the odds of Floyd taking on Alvarez are not good.

Assuming they both win their next fights then yes. Floyd is running out of marketable opponents. Pacquiao just got knocked the f**k out. A fight can't be made with Tim Bradley or Marquez now with the ongoing Top Rank/GBP feud. Unless Devon Alexander beats Kell Brook in devastating fashion, a Mayweather/Alexander fight wouldn't do well. Cotto lost 2 in a row. Canelo is really the only viable option, and considering Floyd plans to fight again in September on Mexican Independence Day Weekend, and with Canelo being the top 3 biggest draw with Goldenboy, the fight makes sense.

I think it will. I think Trout beat Alvarez but Floyd will then fight Alvarez instead of Trout.

Who cares? It's Alvarez who has to prove himself, not Mayweather.

Floyd is into ppv revenue... If Alvarez has good support - I don't see why not.
