Kicked out of band and other sports for being thin. Is this fair?

It doesn't sound fair. But the easiest solution is to eat enough to gain weight.

I would however talk to your teachers and present your side of things. If your teachers don't listen then talk to your parents and see whether they can intervene on your behalf.

Maybe you can at least participate in one sport. I am sure it's not good for you either to get from too many activities to none.

The other question is also what are your grades in school. If they aren't good, you might have to spend more time studying instead of sports. If they are good they have one argument less.

I'm underweight, at 5'5 and 85lbs... my BMI is 14.1. No, its not fair at all! People think its okay to make fun of us skinny people! But they think its not okay to make fun at fatties because they "can't help it". I can't help my weight! Its genetic!!! I eat a ton though! So no its not fair! Your "friend" acted like a bish, and the coaches too. Try cheerleading or tennis. Cheerleading is harder than it looks, and you being skinny, would have the hardest job-flying!

Contact a lawyer

Demand that they put their reasons in writing because you will be consulting a lawyer.

hahaha life is hart :P

the solution is : KFC and Burger king :D

I am a sophomore in college. I've been doing marching band, soccer, and track since I was in middle school. I also train for marathons during my down months. I was recently kicked out of band and also put off the soccer team for being 'too thin'. I am prohibited from participating in track as well. Long story short: my two closet friends and I had a falling out over an incident where my friend was denied a spot on a gymnastics team over her weight. I suggested she either find another sport or hit the gym and it blew up into this whole thing where I think I'm better than everybody and so on. She and my other friend started telling other friends and coaches that they think I have an eating disorder. I DO NOT! The athletic dept. made me have a physical done and even though I was determined to be healthy, I was still told that I was no longer allowed to participate in physical activities because I am underweight as by the BMI chart standards at 5'4 103lbs. Is this fair for them to do so based solely on rumors? I swear I do NOT have an eating disorder! Please help!
