Should I give up a sport I love because of an injury?

no you shouldnt

When you "point your toes" you don't really need to actually change the position of your toe relative to the rest of your foot, what is important is that you flex your ankle. Try focusing on flexing your ankle rather than "pointing your toes" and see if you can do that without problem. If you still dislocate your big toe you cold try taping in to your second toe but if that either doesn't help or interferes with your sport then you will need to see a doctor and hopefully they can do something to help.

You should see your doctor for the pointing your toes problem. You remember when you first started cheer and gym that you would be really sore and it wouldn't go away for a while well think of it like that. If your doctor says you need to stop you should but if he/she gibes you the go ahead just be really careful. If this doesn't work out sorry

i have no experience when it comes to cheer, maybe you could ask your coach (or whoever the main leader of a cheer is) if you can get a position that does not involve you pointing your toe. if not than it seems as though you might have to. If you continue, you are putting yourself at risk for more severe injuries. And i dont think you want that. sorry :(

I would see a doctor about the problem with pointing your toes, but as long as they say you're fine to keep going, I wouldn't stop, especially if you love what you're doing. If it really hurts to point them still, I would just try to be very careful to just not point that particular toe and try to just point with my ankle.

I don't think u should if u love it just take a break. Practice makes perfect.

I have been doing cheer and gymnastics for a while now and last year I broke my toe. I stop doing these sports until it heeled. It is now heeled completely but ver sinse I broke it I can't point my toes. Whenever I try the tie that was broken (my big toe) gets dislocated. It really hurts and it is affecting my cheer. Should I have to give up the sport I love or is there a way to work around this problem?
