Will Golovkin ever be considered as an ATG?

Gennady golovkin will be considered an ATG once he beat elite fighters. He need to fight Martinez, Ward, Froch, Barker, Quillin, and Kovalev. They will cement his legacy as being a living legend. They are essentialy the best fighters that is given to him at the moment. It will be a great accomplishment if he was to beat them.

If he defeats the best in the division; yes.

Don't listen to the morons who say that he has to go up in weight to be considered an ATG.

He can do like Bernard Hopkins; stay at middleweight, unify the significant titles [which right now would mean defeating Sergio Martinez & Peter Quilins] & stay at middleweight defending the titles a few times against the top contenders.

BHops was considered a great middleweight after defending the undisputed middleweight title only twice [he defended the other individual titles allot more though].

@Julio,

Martinez is past his prime and a middleweight, Pacman has fought at 154lbs so he can likely make a fight in a catchweight right above the same division he has fought at the past.

BHops is a light heavyweight, Mayweather has only fought at 154lbs; the size difference between the 2 is huge even though BHops is past it.

he should go on to do great things and in years from now he fould be inducted into the IBHOF.i think he has the potential to be acheive elite all time great status.having the potential and actually doing are two different things though.

he is on top form and the talent is there.wether or not he fulfill's his abillity is dependant on many different variables such as moving weights when the time is right and not rushing the decision to leave middleweight.

everyone keeps saying the common stuff like "who has he fought" but they should really take a look at his ring generalship.there has never been a fighter so good at keeping perfect distance whilst cutting off the ring.the man is skilled but the morons don't see or hear any of it

He doesn't have the competition to build himself up to that level. Theres past prime Sergio and then Ward at 168. Froch too. Then other big names at 175. Thats where he can elevate himself but l doubt he will do it. He is small for those divisions

Why would he? He hasn't fought anyone. Stevens was barely a step up in competition and he was still a C level fighter. Golovkin needs to fight Andre Ward because Ward will end his hype train easily.

Time will tell. He definitely will have the opportunity to do so, and I believe he has the tools, but He has to fight great boxers, so far he fought 0, and is still more hype, then proven.

will find out in 2 or 3 years time

@Ray. I thought you said that Manny pacquiao should fight Martinez at middleweight. You were later caught saying that B-hop should make easy work of floyd mayweather. The evidence is in this forum!! Now your calling people morons for having your way of thinking.

:)) Manny never fought at 154 jack ***. He fought Margarito and Oscar at catchweights. They were 150 and under. You don't know **** about boxing.

BQ: GGG should fight the elite in his weightclass.

Don't think so. Just another boxer who could hit.

he gotta face more ELITE opponents only he can set his own destiny won't be easy thou
