What fighting style is Sergio Martinez?

What fighting style is Sergio Martinez? Do you consider him a runner? If not, what do you consider his boxing style?

Very unorthodox, a lot of people compare him to RJJ because of the pop shots and lowered hands, stance. . Like Roy (in his prime), what makes his style so effective is his incredible fitness level, intelligence and versatility in the ring. He's certainly very slick and he can mix it up a bit if he feels.

In the fights with Paul Williams he came up with that overhead left to target the taller fighter. He outjabbed Dzinzurik who was know for being a great jabber, and when he fought Chavez "bonehead" Jr, he used the whole ring to frustrate and tire out his opponent. He even outboxed Jr. in the inside where people thought he was going to have trouble, not because of Jr.'s skill but the size difference between both fighters.

The art of hitting, without getting hit. Sergio Maravilla Martinez is a good bover, a little unorthodox, but he avoids getting hit with dangerous punches. He has good speed and a tough chin, He also has a very potent right hand, remember the Paul Williams rematch. His lateral movement will cause many a fighter difficulty and he has class.

His style is not traditional, so it's hard to say.

I'd say he's like a boxer-puncher. Sergio is extremely unorthodox, and his style is really athletic. That's the best word to describe it IMO, athletic.

High volume, good skills, moves (but not too much)...he mixes it up w/ people, and keeps his hands down, so you can't really call him a boxer. His jab is great, but he doesn't always use it.

It's like I said, his style is unique. I can't really call it one thing or categorize it as anything else.

This is a hard one, maybe a Boxer/out-fighter as distance has always been one of Sergio's main weapons in his repertoire.(Evident in his fights vs Pavlik, Chavez, Sergiy, Williams)

Boxer-puncher.
