I am interested in becoming a female boxer?

Start slowly doing some road work....Find a safe route and little by little increase your distance each day. Learn to breathe correctly, through the nose, not the mouth. Treadmill will do also. Ab crunches, not sit-ups with hands behind your neck. Get some videos on amazon.com for the basics of boxing, stance, hand position, etc. Shadowboxing is great too. Skipping rope endlessly will help too. Later on, you can either find a gym on boxinggyms.com for your area and instruction. good luck young lady.

My only tip, is that you find a good trainer that is going to teach you the sweet science, known as boxing. Getting and staying in physical shape is crucial, but boxing is a science. I want to say that physical stamina & strength and boxing are two very different things, because boxing is more about knowledge than it is about strength and stamina. Boxing is comparable to the game of chess in that it is a thinking man's game So when you think of boxing, think of chess.

With strength and stamina alone you can become a very good punching bag in boxing; knowing the strategical aspects of the sweet science, you can become a world champ in boxing.

If you believe that you can do it then go for it,all of your difficulties will be solved if you have a fresh mind-set..Good luck....

Start eating right

Im going to be 15 in January.

Im 5'6" and 160lbs.

Im extremely out of shape, I already know that, but I am wanting to try and get into boxing.

I run, 5 times a week, 2-3 miles each, so I get decent cardio, I was just wondering if their were any other tips, or exercises to help me get into shape..

Any help is appreciated. . Thanks in advance!
