If Superman was real, would he be banned from pro sports?

He could dominate in all of them.

Dear Big C:

You have asked a very interesting question. Obviously, with his super powers, Superman could be MVP for life.

Actually, according to the classical legend, the question would never arise. Superboy - as Clark Kent - recused himself from participation in competitive sports for the following reasons:

1) First of all - and let us face it - it simply would not be playing fair if a super-powered being were competing against players who do not have super powers.

2) Were Superboy to use his super powers for competitive advantage, he would be using his extraordinary powers for personal gain, a violation of the superheroes code of ethics.

3) Were Clark Kent to become an aggressive jock, it would be contrary to the meek, mild-mannered persona he is trying to maintain so that people will not suspect that he is the dynamic Superboy.

4) Last of all - and this is the most important reason - if Superboy were to lose his head in the heat of competition, his super powers very easily could severely injure - or even kill - an opposing player (or even a teammate).

So, as I said, the issue would never arise.

Still, it is an interesting thought experiment. Suppose Superman did decide that he wanted to be the world's greatest athlete? Suppose he did want to chuck the superhero routine and go for the 3 G's (the Girls, the Gold, and the Glory)? Could he legally be banned from participation? Would the league's commercial interest in maintaining competitive parity trump Superman's 14th Amendment rights to equal job opportunity? Now, that would be an interesting court case indeed!

Probably. Well magicians are banned for playing in casinos.

of course he would be too good an unstoppable I understand why he would be an illegal player for pro sports

No, they would just make Kryptonite lined pads legal.

He could dominate in all of them.
