Dictionary definition of Sport: an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.

Cheerleading involves physical exertion and skill

Cheerleading teams often compete against others

Cheerleaders provide entertainment

Cheerleading meets all the requirements. But if you need more convincing, take a look at these videos:

College Cheerleading competition:

I believe the participants are athletes, and what they do requires training and skill. I believe they need skills and strength to perform. But that is what they do-- they perform. Sometimes, I admire what they can do with their bodies and their timing. They are not however, competing when the wear their skimpy clothing to attract attention as they cheer on other competitive teams. Is there a score for the cheerleaders at each contest? The Federal courts have decided that at this point it is not a sport. Deal with it.

Cheerleading is a sport but I really respect the competition squads. They do the real work. And I have friends at my school that are cheerleaders. The do as much conditioning and working at in the off season as everyone else

Sports r considered a sport if it is physically demanding. Cheer is definitely demanding. (My cheer experience) we have to run a mile every practice, condition, strength training and stunting. In all sports u complete/play games. That's what cheer does too. The question should be "how could it not b a sport" is gymnastics a sport? Well cheerleading has gymnastics in it. Is dance a sport? Well cheer has dance in it. Is running a sport? Well cheer has running.

you have to life other girls, jump, do gymnastics, and why else do you think cheerleaders have abs?

Just know it is..

I just dont see it and i feel like a dick for not understanding. So can someone argue it being a sport just so i can understand. Thanks
