Boxing: If it were Floyd...?

Essentially, if Floyd took any of these fighters, the media will attempt to destroy him. All these fighters are ESPN2 Friday Night Fighters. Rios is about to break out into cable TV main event star with his all action style. Its ridiculous. Rios isnt even in top 100 P4P, Stevens isnt in the top 200 P4P and Rodriguez won't make top 300 P4P. Some people actually place Golovkin in their top 10 P4P when he hasn't beaten an elite fighter and they place him above Danny Garcia, Mikey Garcia, Rigondeux and Hopkins.

1. Floyd would be criticized for fighting Rodriquez, the reason is that Floyd didn't come off 2 consecutive losses like Cotto. Floyd vs Rodriquez would end in Floyd winning a 1 sided decision.

2. Floyd would be criticized for fighting Rios [much how he was criticized for fighting Guerrero], the reason is that Floyd didn't come off 2 consecutive losses like Pacquiao. Floyd vs Rios would end in Floyd 1 sided decision.

3. Floyd would be praised if he fought Stevens at 160lbs because Stevens is a big man & 1 of the strongest at 160lbs today [he was a powerpuncher at 168lbs]. Floyd has never weighed more than 153lbs, so the bigger Stevens would be able to pressure Floyd and likely wear the little man down, winning via tko in round 8.

cotto was comimg off a loss when he fought rodriguez and so was pac when he fought rios.floyd hasn't been beaten and is considered p4p no.1 by most.if he was to fight rodriguez or rios he would be stepping it down a level.personally i wouldn't mind ifhe tookan easier fight but i would expect him to step it back in the next fight.

golovkin is still a rising star and stevens is the best man that would take the fight so he did nothing wrong.infact i respect him more for taking this high risk/low reward fight.if floyd fought stevens as a warm up to the middleweight division i'd say that would be a fair move.

In defense to the guys mentioned Cotto, and Pacquiao were all coming off losses, and GGG is still unproven. Floyd would, and should be criticized for taking these fights. He is the best fighter, in the world, and should be fighting the best competition.Something he arguably hasn't been doing.

Sean g,

If it were Floyd...?

Floyd mayweather will be crucified by the media if he pick any of them to fight because they are Friday night fighters. Everyone will make a mockery over Floyd mayweather level of competition. They will say that he is a cherry picker that hand pick his opponents. They are bascially hypocrites that hold Floyd mayweather to a different degree.

At this point in his career, Floyd will be criticized for fighting PACQUIAO! Fans will say he waited for Manny to have 5 losses, 3 by brutal knockout,

if you can explain how come floyd would prefer to fight the losers instead of the winners, mayb we might understand wher youre comin from... the way his last 2 fights turned out worried a lot of boxing experts... only proves he hypes his opponents too much that the way they performs on the fight reveals what kind of fighters they are, class B/C non-top10p4p fighters

Great points Sean G you told it like it is with out telling them lol. There are a lot of raciest people on this site .

all of that fight except Pacman... ows... that proves he is a true RICH COWARD.. he said it himself

Comparing fighters who are considered hot right now...

Cotto is hot off his win vs Delvin Rodriguez. What if Floyd fought Rodriguez? Would he be criticized for choosing him? How would it go?

Pacquiao is hot off his win vs Rios. What if Floyd fought Rios? Would he be criticized for choosing him? How would it go?

Golovkin is hot off his win vs Stevens. What is Floyd fought Stevens? Would he be criticized for choosing him? How would it go?
