If Manny can not find an opponent, Provo want to be considered. JMM is the first choice but according to Freddie Roach, JMM was asking for 20M and that will price him out of the fight.
BQ, Manny just fought Timothy Bradley, the undefeated #3 P4P. These other fighters were fighting opponent who were not even on the ranking if not on the lower part of the list. How can any fighter beat that. He fought Margarito who outweigh him by almost 20#. Marga was one of those short list of fighters that were being avoided, whether his gloves was doctored or not. Manny makes it looks easy in fighting them, the reason why some can not accept the result.
Pacquiao would be too fast for Provodnikov and would slice his face up with straight left hands all night, leading to a stoppage. Even in a stoppage loss, Ruslan would come forward all night, put pressure on Manny and get some of his shots in. Pacquiao would know he was in a real fight at the end of the night.
It depends on the result of his fight versus Algieri but without a doubt. Provodnikov now has the name recall needed to help sell a fight with Manny. Juan Manuel Marquez though remains a top priority And the names of Danny Garcia and Canelo Alvarez also keep on coming up in the discussion. Bob Arum may also be considering a fight versus newly-crowned middleweight champion Miguel Cotto as it was earlier hinted that then titlist Sergio Martinez was also in consideration.
BQ: I agree that between 2007-2009 Manny faced incredible and dangerous fighters as Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera Juan Manuel Marquez and Miguel Cotto but Oscar de la Hoya Ricky Hatton and Antonio Margarito were no longer their incredible and dangerous selves when he fought and beat them easily. Oscar's confession in his HOF feature writeup in the Ring attested to that. Hatton had been previously kayoed by Mayweather and he was no longer the same confident, cheerful fighter again. Margarito was coming off crushing KO loss to Mosley and a long suspension prior to fighting Manny.
Provodnikov is just a simple, tough brawler. Another Brandon Rios/Margarito type guy, not on the same level as Pac at all. Punching bag if you show him any movement at all. His only chance to beat you is if you trade with him.
Pacquiao easily. Id honestly rather see a 5th Marquez fight than this, and I'm sick to death of seeing Pac and Marquez fight lol.
PAc used to spar with provo, he knows the style in and out. There was even a time Provo with the head gear and Pac gear less and Manny broke Provo's nose. It's safe to say Pac easily wins this one lopsided.

Gotta give Manny credit, he is a true champion in every sense of the word. Pacquiao is the class of his era, truly one of the historical all time greats.
Obviously, Pac is too fast, too skilled and much too experienced for Provo. BUT, Manny should stay FOCUSED. With all the distractions hounding him, including another megalomanic venture, this time, into professional basketball coaching, one punch from Provo could end it all.
Though they sparred together, a real fight would be very different. I think Pacquiao would win if they fought. However, and more importantly, I think neither fighter would be the same after it's over.

Provodnikov is an exciting fighter and I'm happy for him that his name is becoming common enough where people don't even have trouble pronouncing it. However, no fighter can endure the type of punishment Ruslan puts himself through with each fight. .

Pacquiao is equally as aggressive, though the styles differ. He has also lost a step or two. They'd ruin each other.
