Throwing a nice party tips and advice.?

Generally speaking, the more people you have at a party, the more difficult it is to keep control and keep out alcohol. Also, the more people you have, the more you increase the likelihood that things will get broken (glasses, furniture, windows, etc.).

I would stick to no more than 20 people. If they are from different places, it's important that, as the host, you make some casual introductions.

I would suggest making as much of the food and drink ahead of time as possible, so you'll have time to relax and enjoy your own party. I love serving hot appetizers that can be prepped and frozen days or even weeks before the party, then warmed up in the oven.

Just make sure youre considerate of what your guests like. And make sure they're enjoying themselves.

So I'm 16 male and want a party. I don't want a big house party but just a nice one with some moderate music. I don't really want dancing but more of a social feel. I'm not really a 'cool' kid as such. I probably have about 20 close friends I could invite. But I know them all from different places and I might get cliques. Do you think 20 will be enough or should I just invite everyone I kind if like at school I could probably get 40. I certainly don't want alcohol or loose control at any points. Please give me any general advice requiring music, venue, food and drink etc. I would really appreciate any help thanks.
