I think the numbers add up and validate my 116-113 score in favour of JLC.
I think they point out the obvious, Jose Louis Castillo threw and landed more punches than Floyd Mayweather. That doesn't necessarily mean he won the fight or was the more effective fighter it just means he threw more and landed more according to Compu-Box.
Compu-Box is great when it's used as a secondary supplement to actual judging, but when you have individuals relying strictly on Compu-Box it can skew the reality. Truth of the matter is, this isn't amateur boxing, comp-box stats don't take into account the amount of punches landed each round, and they don't take into account other factors like Ring Generalship or point deductions by the referee which also play a part in judging fights. It's great when you need numbers but it's not a supplement for real judging.
Compubox was never scientific, it's complete and utter bullshit when you look into how they obtain these numbers.
With that said; Castillo clearly won the first fight and did better in the second fight than anyone since [the second i had it 7 rounds to 5 for Floyd, as did 2 of the judges].
Compubox isn't reliable as it still needs people to push the buttons. And you also score rounds individually. Castillo's workrate was effective in the second half of the fight. Mayweather was being effective with his jab and staying on the outside. I don't believe in compubox anyway but Castillo outlanded Mayweather in that first fight. Most shots were body blows and judges don't apprecite them.
It shows Castillo outworked Mayweather. Listen to Mayweather's corner through out the fight, they even tell you who's winning. Castillo roughed Floyd up. I'm a Floyd fan, he got beat by a veteran Castillo. Castillo got Mayweather to fight his fight, and took advantage of it. Like Duran, did to Leonard the first time.
