I don't like Hopkins current style at his advanced age and at the heavier weight, and I too wish he would retire. Very soon he's going to get destoyed like all great fighters that hang around too long.
I only get excited when he fights guys like Dawson and now against Cloud. Guys that I think have a chance to put him away for good.
Even though Hopkins has a good shot at beating the limited dimentional Cloud, I don't realy think it will happen. Cloud is too busy and hits like a truck. I'm hoping for a Cloud KO that will put an end to a steller career.

I dont think he needs to retire, hes never been beaten up and is still competing with the young elite of the sport. I find it amazing every time he shows up, Ive never been excited about Hopkins style but im excited enough watching when he starts to win fights he shouldn't be able to. I think this one tonight is winnable for Hopkins. A strait forward puncher with limited speed is up Hopkins ally, at 40 I would have picked Hopkins hands down, but at 50 jeeez I dont know. Ill be rooting for him.
Neveert...he was boring and an ugly style fighter to many people even in his prime. But he's a short arm style defensive fighter, so most people like pure offense only. I think Cloud wins by UD or possible even TKOing the old geezer hopkins.
No but I have to watch this fight.If you love boxing then watch Hopkins it's like watching a masters class in the sport. He gives you the good when he beat Pavlick and the bad the first fight against Dawson you get it all.I don't have to like him to admire him.
Hell yeah I get excited. He is one of my all time favorites. I think he'll outbox him the last 9 rounds. Cloud will get wild and frustrated.
