Kovalev does not hold any significant physical advantage over Hopkins, except perhaps in the power department.
Yet Hopkins is even slightly taller than him though they have the same reach at 75 inches.
Hopkins is cocky like Apollo Creed but he fights with his head more than his balls.
I think Hopkins takes Kovalev to elementary school of boxing.
If Kovalev kills Hopkins like Drago killed Apollo Creed, then maybe you can draw that type of conclusion, but for now, it's just an interesting fight between a mediocre young fighter with power against an ancient great middleweight fighting three weight classes above his best weight 15 years after he should have retired.
Old but experienced short arm style vs Young inexperienced long arm style. A young Hopkins would have whooped Kovalev like he did Kelly Pavlik. Maybe he could still do it?

Despite Hopkins being an ex-convict, a black supremacist and a blatant racist one has to respect him for his boxing longevity and courage. I worry about his health in this fight but he's the one who asked for it.
This fight reminds me of Apollo vs Drago a lot. The old American who's way past his prime and can't see the dangers starring at him and the merciless Russian with the cold blood running in his vains promising to retire him for good.
I honestly hope this match has a very experienced and alert ref or the proud Hopkins might end up seriously hurt.
