Yes, the entrance is like a national anthem but except it's for the fighter. The intro pays respect to all the training he goes through and coming out and being an entertaining fighter for the fans. Imagine someone being a narrator over the national anthem.
Not as annoyed as at Calzaghe vs Kessler when Max Kellerman would not shut up during a silence and a 10 ring of the bell salute out of respect for a fallen boxing icon, even when the other 55,000 in attendance paid there respects. Now that's a lot more disrespectful than talking through an entrance.

They should just STFU during the entrances. The commentators have all the time in the world to talk about this guy or that guy, they can take a minute or two off and let the guy have his entrance.

Yes especially like entrances like Marquez's entrance Marquez vs Pacquiao 4. The whole crowd was behind him and you felt the atmosphere of that arena when marquez arena but what does larry merchant and other hbo commentators do? they talk about angel heredia giving substances drugs and how marquez's win would be fishy... thats why i go on youtube now just to watch marquez entrance because that was amazing and I just wanted to hear the crowd sing along.
I don't. It's their job to talk and talk and talk, and the ring entrance is a good opportunity for them to talk more. Besides, not too many people are interested in entrance music.
i hate it when they talk over the action as in teddy atlas would start one of his rants that has nothing to do with the fight in front of them and when someone gets hurt or decked he doesn't mention it just carries on with his story .. he's there to commentate on the fight not tell stories about how great he is
I wish fighters would just walk to the ring without music and fanfare.

They seem to always talk between entrances and you can't hear the song I understand saying like a couple of words but not talking throughout the entrance
