How do you think boxing without head guards will effect amateur boxing?

More knockouts?

There will be more cuts around the eyes because of head buts. It will not have and effect on the knock outs. I hated head gear never had a real fight wearing one they were an option when I was fighting.

I don't think it will result in more knockouts but what I think it will do is make amateur boxing look more like pro boxing to people outside of the sport because the first difference non boxing fans notice between amateur and professional is the headguards and vests, so you remove one and it looks closer. Don't know what difference it will make but at least we can see what the fighters faces look like, I hate it when you watch amateur fights at the Olympics and they don't get as much recognition. There will be also more cuts as the others said.

Since many studies have shown that headgear if any thing cause more head trauma and because cause the target to be bigger can cause more possibility to being knocked out, amateur boxing with out them will only have more cuts since lack of head gear will be a result in more head colliding which will inevitably lead to more cuts!

It will help insure that pro boxing has less participants, but the brain damage wards will be full of muscle tone stupid young guys...

More knockouts and less Olympic or college bound fighters

Its a stupid idea.
