I think HBO/Top Rank are better set for the future in boxing than Showtime/GBP. What do you guys think?

Goldenboy biggest fights this year:

1. Floyd mayweather vs. Saul alveraz

2. Danny garcia vs. Lucas matthysse

3. Austin trout vs. Erislandy lara

4. Adrien broner vs. Marcos maidana

5. Keith thurman vs. Soto karass

6. Zab judah vs. Paulie malignaggi

7. Canelo vs. cotto ( possibility ).

I think GBP / Showtime did a better job this year.

@Ray. The question is not about rankings. It is about which promotional company finalized the best fights.

Bob arum is more corrupt: The pacquiao-bradley decision was by far a tragedy.

What Elisha is talking about is HBO put one good card on an entire event then have their have their prospects face cans, whereas Showtime, even if the fights aren't as high in terms of the boxers levels, have been putting on some great stacked events with lots of 50/50 fights.

For example, GBP have made Broner-Maidana and are trying to make Canelo-Cotto, who would they be fighting if they were with HBO/TR.

I disagree with you, respectfully of course, that HBO/TR will be the future of boxing, I see that with Showtime.

BQ Arum way more corrupt.

7 of the Rings top 10 p4p fighters are with HBO, only 3 are with ShowTime.

Elisha,

Mayweather, Danny Garcia & Alvarez and Adrien Broner are the only big stars ShowTime has.

They only fight inbetween 3 weight divisions.

HBO has Andre Ward, Donaire, Pacquiao, Rigo, Klitschkos, GGG, Garcia, Bradley, the list goes on and on.

HBO also has the better up and coming champions/former olympian gold medalist.

Sports, Garcia vs Matthysse was only big because it was in Mayweathers undercard. Trout vs Lara? Keith vs Sotto? Broner vs Maidana? Are you serious? LOL

Sports M.D.,

This question has nothing to do with PPV, stay on topic.

But even if it did; HBO still has more ppv stars. ShowTime has 1 moneymaking monster, that's it.

My P4P list example & my Olympic gold medalist answer are clear on who's ''the future of boxing''.

Showtime puts on much better fights than Top Rank. Just compare the cards. Top Rank has always had **** cards. Showtime has put on the best fights time and time again. They aren't afraid to see their prized fighters lose and that doesn't seem to affect those fighters reputation. Look at Matthysse and Garcia. Mayweather and Canelo. Broner and Maidana.

Top Rank has had Marquez and Bradley but thats been the only fight which they have put up that had us on our seats. The bad thing about that fight was the same **** card and they made it a PPV fight even though it didn't deserve to be one. I hope Top Rank dies with Bob Arum.

hate simply clouds your judgement.... man i dont like arum but lets face it.... hbo/tr did better than showtime/gbp this year

They have multiple fantastic amateurs coming through as well as a lot of great established fighters that are currently putting on sweet fights. They also have Andre Ward, Timothy Bradley, Terrence Crawford and Keith Thurman who are in the prime position to take Mayweather's crown as the top black slick boxer and probably p4p number 1 in the future if they keep winning.

Seems like Showtime has a very good short-term game but HBO will remain the long term number 1 in boxing.

BONUS question: Who is more corrupt? Many poor decisions on HBO eg Tim Bradley Pacquiao but Showtime has the Canelo-Trout open scoring fiasco. Discuss
