If we are to be strict in our parameters. the best fighter too had to be able to fight and win anywhere and at any condition. Robinson fought in the sweltering heat of American summer against Joey Maxim and he wilted in his most important and history-making ( he was gunning for a third divisional world title at light heavyweight ) fight. In comparison, Ali fought in the sweltering heat of Zaire and the Philippines and won his two most significant fights ( versus George Foreman and Joe Frazier ).
I agree with Galactus. Sugar Ray Robinson stands head and shoulders above the crowd. Nobody else is even close. He was the total package, offense, defense, killer instinct , power you name it. Yes Walker Smith Jr. is the best boxer who ever lived. I would put Roberto Duran at lightweight a far second.

I'm guessing you're new year and probably under 20. This is not to be confused with Sugar Ray Leonard. Leonard is great in his own right but Robinson stands well above everyone.
