Why do people think Mayweather is scared of Pacquiao when Pacquiao is so vulnerable to counter punchers?

The majority of boxing experts and neutral fans expect Mayweather to win. At the height of Pacquaio's hype, 60% of boxing experts expected Mayweather to pull out the win. At this moment, only die-hard Pacquaio fans and Mayweather haters (Basically the same people) still go against him.

I saw a hater once blame the 2 pounds from the JMW limit as the reason Canelo lost. I suppose they would think Cotto would have beaten Pacquaio also if he fought him at 147. Unbelievable.

The fact that Mayweather recently ruled out facing Pac in what would likely be the biggest ppv ever, is evidence enough that he still perceives the Filipino as a threat. This fight makes all the financial sense in the world for him, but legacy-wise, it's a high risk fight, because although having a win over Pac would certainly enhance his legacy, he likely won't get as much credit for it after Pac's recent ko loss to Marquez. On the other hand, if Pac were to defeat him, it would be devastating for his career. And at this stage, Mayweather is unwilling to take that risk. Remember, on paper an aging Cotto was supposed to be easy work for him, but the battle worn Puerto Rican ended up giving him a fairly tough fight. And unless Pac is damaged goods, he remains a more dangerous foe than several of his last few opponents like Guerrero, Ortiz and even the bigger Alvarez.

Every boxer is vulnerable to both volume punches and counter punches including Floyd Mayweather. Pacman is a volume puncher.

With that said; i remember Pacman being scared of needles, then being scared of blood loss, then accepting drug test but at least 20 days before the bout, then a 50-50 split purse, i don't think he was the one making unfair and suspicious rejections but both boxers will be remembered for not making it happen due to these things.

Like Holyfield said, Pacman has nothing to lose, losing is nothing new to him, but Floyd has to hold onto that undefeated record and pacman has a shot at knocking off that 0. Anyway, me having the least respect for judges and official decisions, I keep my own record for the fighters I follow and Floyd has 1 loss in my record. In fact, if you know boxing, you yourself can take your records for a fighter 110% above those official judges scores without the slightest hesitation.

well, probably its a ploy by the media to call floy a coward to challenge him to fight pac, cus the media saw how he ran away from the fight, wtf? since when did you saw him made too many demands, and go to a 16 mos vacation in the height of everything? when the margarito fight failed to happen, did he point the blame to anybody??? yep but for pac he made a lot of it, arum, the purse, all

after pac agreed to OSDT...

of course the guy aint no coward, but point is, he’s been called a coward, FACT!!, true or not he can really beat pac, the world was so eager to see it happen but it didnt, they need someone to blame for the megafight not happening, history will take account why they all failed to make the most important fight of this era from happeninh

why nobody asked this 3 years ago when pac was p4p king and floyd just announced a year or two off from boxing, running off from the fight??? uhhh yeyeyea, he needs a vacation... but hey, do you know anybody spent 16 months to a vacation??? cus i know someone who did the same to lay low & wait for the issue to die down

Let's put it this way. If Floyd does fear Manny, he needs to see a psychiatrist.

To top that off ,Marquez gave Pacquiao all he could handle and is a good counter puncher and Mayweather is bigger and faster than Marquez and is the best counter puncher out there ,why would Mayweather be "chicken"?
