Thumbs up to Teodor, I can't argue against his logic. Joe Louis was simply superior to Lennox Lewis in every comparable category. Joe Louis would have been the heavy favorite and Lennox would have had a punchers chance, but not much of one. Joe Louis by KO faster than McCall or Rahman did in Lennox.

I believe compubox had both of these men as the most accurate boxers ever in punch stats.

Both could land on each other. Lennox did great against smaller men but Louis did great against bigger men [some much bigger than Lennox].

I think both get hit and what I've seen is Louis stand up and dominate everyone who dropped him [except when he was old against Marciano, or the first Schmeling fight but watch the rematch to see the result].

I've seen Lennox get dropped.

I don't think Lennox is as head strong and he lacked the experience so I personally think that this would determine the winner, being Louis, but who knows.

Lennox was bigger so he could have won who knows, we only have speculations, but what I do know is that accomplishment-wise Louis is always top 3 by respected publishers while Lennox barely makes top 10 due to his inconsistencies against several not so great foes.

Everyone who beat Louis was a past, present or future undisputed heavyweight world champion & a hall of famer. Can't say the same for Lennox.

Lennox by Split Decision

I understand Lewis lost to guys less superior, and same size, but lets not forget punch drunk Max KO'd Joe Louis. Max was KO'd and beaten 7 times, before KO' Joe. Lennox would of used his size, and jab, to stay away and out point Joe. Joe could of caught him, but I think Lewis would of played it safe, and win a very close decision.

Louis at 6' 1 1/2 " had a style whereby he measure his stance and distance in inches. He could move that 1 " to get into the right firing range and still have a defense to block, parry, slip, punches and counter with devastating combinations. once he found you, he didn't let you go. Louis would find Lennox who loved to fight with his hands hanging low. Big mistake in this case. Louis by late round TKO stoppage.

Joe Louis wins by KO in round 6.

Louis in his prime was a smaller but way, way better and composed version of Oliver McCall, the guy who hurt, downed and had Lewis tottering along the ropes as the referee correctly stopped their first fight and the same guy who was so mentally bothered that he could not put up any decent defense and yet Lewis could not hurt him even with hands down! Take the cue from there.
