Mike Tyson 85-88 vs the same Douglas from Tokyo 1990 15 Rounds who wins?

There is little difference, physically, between Tyson 88 and the Tyson who lost to Buster Douglas. The big difference was spiritually.

.

Imagine being surrounded by 20 people, all friends and family. You've just been handed $1 Million. Just imagine what that would be like. You have 20 people, all of whom you care for or have at least some connection to. Each one is trying to give you "advice" on what to do with the $! Million you've been handed.

.

What would that be like?

What would you want to do at that moment? You just want to be removed from the atmosphere.

.

Most here have no idea what Mike's life was like in 1990 before he faced Douglas in Tokyo. Douglas was motivated by the death of his mother. You could argue that there is no greater motivation. However, I don't think I'll ever stop wondering what it would have been like had someone dropped Ruth Roper off a roof.

.

I witnessed, on numerous occasions how these leaches latched into Mike. For all his might, I was astounded at his inability to keep these vermin at bay. The bottom line is that I don't think Mike threw the fight. However, I think he just wanted OUT. He wanted to be removed from all the hype and attention the dozens of flunkies brought to his life.

.

He doesn't want to lose but all he's thinking about is an "absence of the mess". It was Terrible.

.

A more motivated Tyson would have powered through Douglas' offense and found a way to win.

.

None of us knows for sure what was in Mike's mind that night. One thing I do know. Mike didn't want to lose. But winning was the farthest thing from his mind.

This Mike Tyson would have destroyed Buster Douglas with ease. It would be a one sided no contest. Tyson of these years was at the top of his game. Buster was a one fight wonder. He just happened to catch an unmotivated unprepared Tyson. That is not Busters fault. Buster fought the fight of his life. His mothers recent death giving him a reason to work and train hard. When he fought Tyson he weighed 231 pounds. When he fought Holyfield 8 months later he weighed 246 pounds. He was stopped in the 3rd round. Tyson after the Spinks fight was ready to be taken it was just a matter of time. Tyson all the way in 1985-88 by early and devastating stoppage.

Tyson wins this big if he 'd only train and not go to the zoo with Don

King trying to hype a 50-1 underdog fight. Douglas losing and dedicating this fight to his recently deceased mother had a cause, but he'd not be able to do this if only Tyson took it seriously.

I would have loved the chances of the vintage pre-world championship Tyson of 1985. The fame, fortune and the glitz of being the undisputed world heavyweight champion were simply too much for Tyson not to be drunk and down in the wine of success.

Same result. Good fighter loses to a good boxer, and Tyson knew it and was scared to lose his undefeated record and had no motivation to train.

Kind of like how Wilder has no motivation to fight Stiverne, even though he talks alot or trash, but if he had a choice, he would've never wanted to fight Stiverne, cuz he knows he's just not ready for a real fight, and not just the staged 1 round KO fights for show..

Tyson KO RD 4

douglas was too big and strong for Tyson and was extra motivated by his mother dealth.

Same result.
