xamples. Early Death, Death in the ring, became lazy, lost their will to try, called it quits to early, injury. In your opinion give me five boxers that could have been.

These are guys that could've been all time greats, some attained world championship status, one never made it to the pro's (Mays).

1. Tony Ayala Jr. - Criminal behavior.

2. Salvador Sanchez - Lost control of his Porsche at age 23. (Never saw how great he could be).

3. Edwin Valero - Supposedly committed suicide.

4. Bernard Mays - Old Kronk Gym stablemate of Tommy Hearns, he couldn't stay off the booze. Hearns will tell you how devastating this guy was.

5. Michael Nunn - Cocaine abuse, sent to jail for distribution.

5. Joe Calzaghe - Fought sub par opponents, and ducked the toughest challenges.

Salvador Sanchez had 40 some fights with only 1 loss early in his career he made the mexican-rican rivalry great with wilfredo gomez. I know he would have had a record as great as Julio cesar chavez sr because he literally had unlimited amounts of cardio and stamina, NEVER stopped fighting, had KO power and just stayed on opponents and is the best brawler I've ever seen. Another example is Victor Ortiz if only he didn't quit against Maidana, and his jaw didn't break he would have been great and if he didn't headbutt mayweather I think he would have had a chance. And he'd be even greater and a probably still a champion but he ****** up too much but he does still got a chance to redeem himself.

Michael Watson - career ended prematurely as a result of near-fatal injury sustained in a fight with eubank.

Kirkland laing - he was extremely talented when he was in the mood or he wasn't stoned.

Gerald McClellan - Nearly died in his bout with Nigel Benn, never lived to his full potential.

Johnny Owen, killed in the ring aged 24. Owen's family and the guy he fought are now good friends, I understand. And of course there are guys like Riddick Bowe, who could have been great, but didn't quite give it their all in training.

Edwin Valero. I was just starting to enjoy his fights until he took his life.

The only person who really comes to mind is me. Damn I'd have been good if I'd started boxing.
