when John Capobianco was his trainer...was Gerry Cooney invincible..cause ive never seen a fighter dominate his opponents like Gerry did

what do you think?

Gerry Cooney was not an invincible fighter in his prime, sure he could hit, but he looked invincible to fighter who should have been put out to pasture many moons ago. He fought a lot of potential candidates from the retirement communities, Ken Norton and Jimmy Young, for example. When he challenged the then WBC World Heavyweght Champion Larry The Easton Assassinn Holmes for the Title in June 1982, he was severely embarrassed and punished. Conney was stopped in round 13, after he landed only low blows on Holmes. In 1986 He was stopped in 5 rounds by IBF Heavyweight Champion Michael Spinks and in January 1990, he lost to a senior citizen fighter< George Foreman, by knockout, to even the score for all the senior fighters he knocked out.

No not at all. Cooney fought a bunch of washed up past prime 1970s heavyweights Ron Lyle Jimmy Young and Ken Norton. He was overmatched however fought a good fight against the great Larry Holmes. He did have a vicious left hook. I do not feel his heart was in boxing. After the loss to Holmes he only fought 5 times from 1984 to 1990. His record was 3-2 and he suffered 2 knockouts to Michael Spinks and a comebacking George Foreman.

Leon's little brother KO'd him in 5.

no larry holmes put a boxing clinic on his as$
