What are my chances of becoming professional?

Anyone can turn professional the question is will you be successful, you just need to be dedicated and have the right mindset and have a good boxing iq. Study the sport try different things think about what your doing and why you are doing it for example why hold both hands high when you can have your backhand high front lower to cover your body and use your shoulder to cover your chin, instead of slipping or blocking you can just move out of range analyse everything you do in the ring and dont be scared to admit certain weaknesses if you dont admit to your self what your weaknesses are you cant fix them and your opponent will use that to their advantage.

There's always someone on yahoo answers asking the same question. I say it time and time again, you can do anything you put your mind to you just need the determination. Winning regional competitions wherever your based should put you in good stead towards going pro as it exposes you to promoters and guys who wanna make money out of good prospects. That being said, do you really wanna go pro? Amateur boxing is 1 thing.... A way of life which also teaches you how to handle yourself on the streets, but that being said, look at the greatest of all time... Muhammad Ali as well as other boxers. Some slur there words and some find it difficult do certain things we fully healthy people take for granted. I love boxing, but I wouldn't want to lose certain luxuries like being able to live without medical assistance. That being said, if you still want to go pro, you can do it. Just make sure you train harder than anyone else in your gym. When you don't want to do roadwork, do it anyway. If you don't want to go to the gym, do it anyway. I promise you, you do these things and you'll have a great chance of going pro

If you stay hungry, committed and motivated, with a strong determination to be the best, your chances are as good as anyones, the great fighters of all time had no secrets to why they were great, they just tried really hard, to get where they got.

I think if this is what your heart is telling you to do, go for it, it is a hard career choice, but you only get one life, so why not. I'd prefer to have given it a go, then look back and wonder what if?

Your age is fine, I believe Joe Fraiser didn't start until he was 19???? I think.

Go for it.

When your 18 get a license a promoter and you're set

I'm 16 and have only been boxing for nearly a year now. I've had 5 amateur fights 4-1 and plan on many more. Even though I havent boxed for that long i feel that its my passion. My heart tells me that I want a career in it. Its a huge long shot and im willing to do whatever it takes. Im hungry....
