Who wins the battle between these two truly great warriors and why?
Morales was at his prime best at 130 lbs. when he unified the titles beating the likes of Jesus Chavez and Carlos Hernandez.
He lost the titles to bitter rival Marco Antonio Barrera again in close controversial decision in their third fight over three weight classes. That was when Morales was suspected to be starting to have issues with the weight limit. That issue also cropped up in his three fights with Manny Pacquiao which he won one and lost two, both by KO. From then on, Morales moved up to the lightweight where he lost two fights, including a failed bid for the WBC belt. After a semi retirement, he later moved up to the junior welterweights where he won his fourth world title.
Chico Corrales was essentially a junior lightweight at most a lightweight during his prime and career.
He ran up a record of 30-0 as a junior lightweight before suffering his first two losses, both by TKO to Floyd Mayweather and Joel Casamayor between 2001-2003. He would rebound by beating Casamayor, Popo Frietas and Jose Luis Castillo, the lat two by memorable stoppages to win titles at 130 and 135 lbs between 2003-2005. Those proved to be his last winning fights prior to his death in 2007.
Given those backgrounds, I think Morales of the Chavez-Hernandez fights vintage would have beaten Corrales at 130 lbs on points, possibly even late round TKO. But at 135 lbs. where Corrales was at his strongest and where Morales failed miserably, I think Corrales would beat Erik possibly even by KO/TKO.

Though at 130" he was a bit wobbly as Mayweather showed.
