Why do people think Castillo was robbed against Mayweather? It was close like the Marquez vs Pacquiao series?

That fight was very close. But I scored it 114-112 for Mayweather. I wouldn't be mad at all if the judges gave that fight to Castillo.

But, the reason why a lot of people say Castillo was robbed was because they are Mayweather haters. And this is the only fight where they could make argument of Mayweather losing. Other bouts Mayweather won clearly and unanimoulsy. It was even so funny that some people cry that Oscar De La Hoya was robbed against Mayweather, while I scored 116-112 at worst for Mayweather.

Plain and simple, they are just Mayweather haters. The fact Mayweather gave Castillo immediate rematch should be respected.

And during their first fight, did anyone forget that Castillo fight very dirty? He never beat Floyd fair and square. He clinched a lot, hitting during the break a lot, and threw so many low blows. Floyd deserves that decision.

I had it 115-111 Castillo. Some rounds were tough to score. Both fighters lost a point. I re watched the fight, and thought Castillo convincingly won the fight. I also saw the announcers Foreman, Lederman, and Lampert all thought Castillo won a convincing UD. To me it looked like the veteran champion Castillo roughed up a younger Mayweather. The ref let Castillo get away with being dirty, and Castillo took advantage of it, by out punching Floyd 203-157, also Castillo landed the higher percentage. Power punches Castillo out landed Floyd 173-66. Floyd's corner was telling him to go for KO, last 3 rounds. The first thing Floyd said about the fight, after was his shoulder was hurt, and he underestimated him. I'm a Floyd fan, but Castillo won the 1st fight, Mayweather might of actually been hurt though ,because the 2nd fight went much different.

People say it's a robbery b/c it's a Floyd fight, and the only one you can make a case he lost.

Like you said, 114-112 for either guy is a perfectly reasonable score. When a fight is that close, it's NEVER a robbery. I've scored the fight twice, and had it one time for each guy by that exact score.

If soembody claims Floyd definitely lost that fight, then they're stupid. It was the definition of a toss up, and Floyd got the decision in a competitive fight.

You know what people always fail to mention? That Floyd took the IMMEDIATE rematch and schooled Castillo in a completely one sided fight.

Everyone wants to sh*t on Floyd for having one rough fight that was close, yet somehow he gets no credit for fighting that same opponent again, dominating the rematch and proving he was the superior fighter.

It is the closest Floyd ever came to a loss. Haters of Floyd hate him so much they want to re-write history. One problem, there's this thing called HBO and another called Youtube...together they provide evidence of what happened. And many fighters have benefitted from and suffered from questionable decisions...thats boxing. I hate it as much as anyone. Look at Pacquiao. Most agree...he was robbed vs Bradley...but there is a strong segment of the boxing world who felt he clearly lost Pacquiao/ Marquez III and was given a gift.

For the Floyd haters, you have to respect the fact that Castillo was given an immediate rematch. He could not convince one judge on 6 scorecards that he beat Floyd. Get over it!

Mayweather v Castillo was a CLOSE fight, NOT a controversial fight. Only Mayweather haters insist Castillo won

Castillo was the reigning and defending world champion in that fight and as such some people thought he should be given the benefit of the doubt in that contest. It was Floyd's first fight at 135 lbs. and hence he should also be given some leeway for not being as dominant as he was at 130 lbs. I think it's all in the matter of impression, perception and expectation. But the judges saw the fight unanimously in favor of Floyd who outboxed and outmaneuvered Castillo for most of the fight. Castillo was his characteristic aggressive self in that fight and it was Floyd who did most of the adjusting to him and to fighting for the first time at `135 lbs. I think Floyd was successful in both that's why the judges saw it his way. The margins in the judges scores in the first fight were bigger than the second fight.

Well i watched that fight recently and it could have went either way i had it 114 114, but Floyd won convincingly in the 2nd fight though

I recently just watched the fight and scored it 114-112 for Mayweather. You could also make a case for 114-112 Castillo. Just one of those fights that could go either way. Similar to how close Marquez vs Pacquiao's first two battles were. The third was close but belonged to Marquez. It was the one Marquez deserved to win. Do you agree with me? Which fight was closer? Marquez vs Pacquiao 3 or Mayweather vs Castillo 1. And Mayweather vs Castillo 2 is also just as close as Pacquiao vs Marquez 3.

I think people are over-exaggerating when they say it was robbery. It is controversial because it is the only fight Mayweather has been in that could go either way. And for those who doubted the outcome and thought he was 'afraid' to lose again, he gave Castillo a deserved rematch and won decisively but not by a wide margin.
