You have a headgear so do you still get bruises or not likely?

Yes, you can even get a broken nose. eye injurys, teeth knocked out.

Hi Daniel. The purpose of headgear is to reduce head injuries. They don't eliminate them altogether. So to answer your question, yes you can still get bruises, but you are less likely to get knocked out.

The forehead is covered in addition to the side of the head, so they have some protection. However, in an IRONIC point of view that is out now, the following has occured: The International Boxing Association have the theory that headgear is a cause of head injury to boxers as they try to hit their opponents much harder in a fight because they are wearing head gear. To be honest, this makes a lot of sense as an opponent wouldn't hit as hard if they weren't wearing protection.

Headgear can cause other problems too. For example with peripheral vision, you may not see some punches coming from the side, like the hook punch. Studies have shown that LACK of headgear leads to less risk of concussion

Your face is still revealed so you could get swelling not likely though unless you're a punching bag.

Only if you hit the opponent in the fist with your face.
