How to toughen up mentally?

Be confident in yourself, confidence comes from character, in particular your character. Don't do what you oppose, if you don't enjoy fighting because you view it mortally or ethically wrong then dont do it. Most people, both boys and girls, men and women have a distorted view on on what it means to be "strong", not that they are wrong mind you. They tend to focus more on the physical or social strength rather than the more personal strength, (of which they are another subject's) focus more on yourself, find who you are and embrace it, if you are quite or loud, passive or aggressive, tactical or forceful.

Hope it helps, if you want more, add more details and I will do what I can

Be prepared. Don't be cheeky and look for a fight but look confident. People can see it in your eyes. If you are prepared to fight, if you know yourself that if somebody attacked you you would fight them back, then they know it too. They can read it and back off. You just have to let go of all worries, have a neutral but vicious glint in your eyes. Just be prepared to take a punch and give a punch and ironically you are less likely to have to. Hope i helped.

P.S. About getting into that state of mind, just expect a fight, expect a fight and without begging and looking weak try and steer it away. If you look weak they will want to fight if you look ready for a fight they will avoid it.

I think you have a good attitude.

There are people stronger than us, and sometimes being scared is a good thing. It can save you.

In Karate there is a saying...."run with pride"

They train to know how to fight, but then avoid fighting.

To have No fear is the first step to becoming mentally strong.

To have Heart, is to override your mind when it wants to quit!

A mentally strong individual has No fear, is non aggressive,

can communicate with words, avoids dangerous situations, doesn't start fights,

can reason disputes without physical confrontation, does not wish harm to people.

and when pushed to standing up for themselves, can take a hit, while not being afraid to give one.

I'm 18 and I hate violence and I hate people who shout and start on me. Hate it when people say they know people and act all gangster.

My dad says most kids are whimps and I shouldn't be scared of anyone.

What is heart? Is it about the heart?
