Would he have been a PPV attraction on the same level as Canelo Alvarez or maybe Floyd Mayweather?

Calzaghe had well documented hand problems which is one of the reasons he decided to have two fights in the USA and then retire.

If he had continued fighting he would have become a bigger name in the US as they had only really started taking notice of him after he destroyed jeff Lacy.

If he'd gone on to fight say, Pavlik, Dawson, Hopkins rematch, Froch, and Ward, then he would have been much more of a household name in the US.

It depends on who the five opponents were and whether he won any of them. And no not as big as Mayweather Jr, he's an American who is flashy and likes the attention. Our Joe likes to keep himself to himself, he doesn't like the limelight, he loves his family more than money.

True gent and best Super Middleweight we've ever produced

Depends on who he fought, probably not much bigger. Most Americans, not all, thought of him as a good boxer, with great stamina, but only greats he faced were old, and shells of themselves.

Not necessarily...............He was fun to watch and a great conditioned athlete, but more British appreciated than US boxing fans. It is what it is ..............
