Joe Calzaghe vs Carl Froch: Prime vs Prime?

Super middleweight, 12 rounds.

Calzaghe no question. He'd Jeff Lacy him.

Before anyone says that he would beat Calzaghe, Froch himself said in an interview with Jonny Nelson on Sky Sports, when he has Froch and Calzaghe in the studio, that Calzaghe would beat him on points because he was much busier and threw more punches. Froch said that the only way he could beat Calzaghe would be to find a way of knocking him out, which given that Froch has moderate power and Calzaghe has a solid chin, would be highly unlikely to happen.

Joseph William Calzaghe by Decision. Carl could steal a couple rounds, but I think it would be a clear cut decision win for Calzaghe. Didn't Carl Froch already admit that he probably couldn't outbox Calzaghe but would need a KO? It seems Froch knows his own weaknesses and in his interview with HBO, he didn't seem to confident or maybe he is too intelligent and does realize his style does not mash good with Ward. Meaning not what Froch said about Ward being boring, but more the fact that I think Froch thinks he can't beat Ward.

Great queston my friend! Joe Calzaghe to me is the best super middleweight of all time combining lightning fast hands, great reflexes, toughness and agility on his way to being one of the few to retire undefeated in his career. Carl Froch is a tough and durable guy wth outstanding boxing skills and undeniable strength and durtability. I also beliee that Froch would hae given Calzaghe quite a battle in the ring because of these facts but in the long run Calzaghe would just find a way to win a close fight in the end.

Calzaghe W12

This fight would be identical to froch vs ward. Calzaghe is just too fast, too intellagent and by the later rounds froch would just be walking into 4 punch combos. Calzaghe wins this by wide UD.

Gotta give Calzaghe his props, I think he would have had Froch's number.
