Joe Frazier vs Jim Jeffries Prime vs Prime 15 Round and 20 Round fight who wins?

Big Jeff doesn't hit like George Foreman but he's quite close. Think of the first Frazier-Bonavena fight. The difference in power between Jeffries and Foreman is primarily what would allow Frazier back into the fight....................after he makes a few trips to the canvas.

.

The thing to remember about the Foreman fight is that Frazier was already a damaged fighter by the time he met Foreman. He could only get motivated for ALI. Check his record and that's all you need to know.

.

Frazier's strength, and weakness, is that he has only one gear. Forward. Jeffries would be able to take everything Frazier dishes out and return in kind.

.

If you take away the knockdowns, Frazier wins on points as he's the busier fighter. However, Jeffries would score three knockdowns but he would fail to break Frazier's spirit. Still, the knockdowns would make the difference.

Jeffries W 15

If the fight went 20 rounds the outcome would be the same or the referee would step in and stop it as Frazier would be unable to see the punches coming his way.

Two heavyweight champions who came after Jeffries and actually saw him in his prime best namely Jack Johnson who beat an already old, faded Jeffries coming off a long retirement, and Jack Dempsey swore to Jeffres rare blend of speed, power and explosiveness. Dempsey even went as far as saying that prime version of Jeffries would have beaten him, Johnson and even Joe Louis.

I have seen Frazier and his big fights and if not for his connection with Muhammad Ali I would say that he will not be as great as he is regarded today. same with Kenny Norton.

Frazier nearly lost to Oscar Bonavena and was destroyed in two fights against George Foreman which are just about the significant fights he had at heavyweight outside of his three fights versus Ali.

I am therefore giving the prime Jeffries described by Johnson and Dempsey more than 50-50 chance of beating prime Frazier.

If big George Foreman could bounce Frazier around the ring like a rag doll so could Jeffries who was probably faster and stronger than Foreman.

I don't see either fight lasting more than a couple of rounds.

I can hear Howard now saying "down goes Frazier"

Jeffries was no push over and routinely trained for 20 round fights. This IMO would be like another Foreman /Frazier type fight.

Jeffries would destroy Frazier worse than Foreman did
