Why do you think recent Boxing PPV events are doing lower numbers?

There are too many PPV fights in the US, some of which not significant viewed from their impact on the real scheme/reckoning of things in international pro boxing. Promoters are relying too much on star power and name recall to sell/market those fights via PPV when some bouts are not worthy to be featured on basic paid cable or even on sponsored free TV as they were really just a waste of time.

Action-filled virtual unification fights have been happening at flyweights as Rodriguez-Takayama, Segura-Estrada and Gonzales-Yaegashi and more exciting lower profiled fights have been happening (as the Tomoki Kameda-Sor Singyu and Orlando Salfdo-Terdsak Kokitegym title bouts recently) or are scheduled to happen in other lower weight classes and those fights are fights that fans missed and are wanting eagerly to pay to see but they were/are not on PPV.

Because promoters like Bob Arum are making fights like Marquez vs Bradley ppv and was seriously gonna make Chavez Jr vs GGG PPV or Froch. They're saturating the market but they're gonna stop now.

It actually has to be a good fight to make PPV, not some crap like Shannon Briggs or Bermane Stiverne, i'm talking about Floyd, Pacman, Klitschko (against a decent opponent) ect.

$75 for a sport event isn't something just anybody would want to pay for. PPV is not worth the price IMO.

It is a mixture of promoters not building stars properly, the best not fighting the best, and lousy undercards.

poor promo job... fightfans smarting up, promoters cannot cope up...

I'm not talking about Mayweather and Pacquiao i just mean in general it seems like numbers for fights have declined in the past couple years even for popular fighter against each other e.g.....

Martinez vs Chavez Jr did like 500k buys but Martinez vs Cotto barely cracked 350k, Cotto is probably even more popular than Chavez so i don't get what has happened in the last two years.

Why are PPV numbers declining?
