Did George Groves stock rise this weekend after the battle he won against Carl Froch?

George groves definitely earned more respect from fight fans over the weekend because he actually came close to beating Carl froch. He won many key rounds but the ref prematurely stopped the fight. I think the rematch will be even more epic!!!

Groves' stock definitely rose on Saturday night. To the majority of fans he was not ready for the top Super Middleweight's in the world, but he proved them wrong with a masterclass.

I always thought Groves had a very good chance of pulling of the upset because of his superior speed and movement, and because of the power he has in his right, while Froch always keeps is left low.

I thought both boxers would be down at some point in the fight, but I didn't expect Froch to be put down so early. He was unconscious on the way down and the fight should have been stopped under Howard Fosters rules.

I think the main thing that impressed me about Groves way his ability to take a punch. Everyone was saying he has a glass chin, but he took some big shots and didn't go down.

The way that everyone in the arena booed Froch when he said the ref was right to stop the fight, and the way George was cheered out of the arena tells us that everyone is now a believer in George Groves.

i think groves now has to rated in the top 3 168 fighters in the world i'd have him no 2 behind ward and above froch but that's me . groves was robbed of the chance of victory ,and for me froch was hurt much worse and on more than one occasion ,many people have said that froch's game plan was to come from behind as he's done before BUT froch had never been beat up like that before other fighters have outboxed froch but none had hit froch that many times and so hard .

the other guy to come out of this with credit is groves trainer Paddy Fitzpatrick , i heard a good story about Paddy yesterday i went training yesterday at a the fitzroy lodge and the head trainer mark is a guy that i boxed with many moons ago and a friend and he said a few years ago that one of the boxer said he was working with this irish guy in a warehouse who reckons he trained james toney amongst others ,so mark thought it would be a bloke making it up but told him to come down anyway .in walks this irish guy in a hat and they end up talking for 3 hours about boxing and styles and training .it turned out that Paddy had worked in america with some big fighters like james toney and laila Ali and paddy knew his stuff .so paddy hang around the fitzroy lodge but the then head trainer then mick carney didn't like him so mark arranged for paddy to go to the next gym along the road which was david hayes gym and paddy then met adam booth and groves , and the rest is history .

Only to people who know both fighters well and know what occurred in the match-up. To the casual fan, they will look at the win-loss columns and just say Froch beat Groves by KO.

I agree with every thing you said accept for one thing i think he prepared well for this fight but he had no idea that Groves was going to be that hungry Groves put everything in that fight but came up short if there is a rematch which i doubt you might see different result IMPO

BQ:] Did St. George Groves stock rise this weekend after the battle he

won against Carl Froch? I got to give George Groves he's definitely not

another David Price he's the real deal. I was skeptical about this going

into the fight with Carl Froch. I thought this was going to be Kelly Pavlik

vs. Gary Lockett all over again definitely wasn't the case, Groves proved

he is ready for the "big stage" and won the crowd over with that big fight

performance, Carl Froch made a BIG MISTAKE underestimating Groves

and not taking him seriously had that stupid referee not been on the take

of Match Room Sport we would of had a new Super Middleweight Champ.

It's just horrible and unjustified how boxers get robbed of these decisions

they work hard in the training camp to prepare make weight and put on a

good show for the boxing fans and just to have that taken away from them

is just wrong and something needs to done about this in the sport of boxing

George Groves and can definitely defeat most of the top Super Middleweights

in the world Mikkel Kessler, Robert Stieglitz, Lucian Bute, Thomas Oosthuizen

and Arthur Abraham and he was well on his way to defeating Carl Froch if only

he would of had better management this could of been protested more this will

be a re-match that boxing fans are going to want to demand to see in the world.
