Did Rocky Marciano have any involvement with the mob?

It has been rumoured that Marciano's manager Al Weill had ties with the mob. In the 1940's and 1950's the mob virtually ran boxing in the USA and most managers/promoters had some involvment with the mob. Whether or not the mob had any involvment with Marciano's career though I don't know. From what I have read Marciano was a straight down the line type of person so I would say any mob involvement would have been without his knowledge.

The mob controlled boxing in the East. However, it is thought that they did not want to be involved in Marciano's career, since he was an Italian-American hero, and they did not want to hurt his career or legacy.

They could have had some influence in his fights, but not directly with him or his manager.

no he did not have any involvement with the mob, his trainer Al Weill had connections to Mike Norris, who ran Madison Square Garden, in the 1950's. Rocky had class, not like todays boastful clowns.

its debatable...they say he had links....the extent of those links is questionable.....his undefeated record and apparent plane crash death also raise questions......there is no doubt though that he had great power in punch and was proportioned well.

It was most likely.
