Does it matter if Young George fought Clay instead of Ali?

BQ. Old George vs Cassius Clay? Who wins?

Based on the dictum "styles make fights", George would lose to Ali 9 times out of 10. With more reason if he fought young Cassius Clay who was unbelievably fast and quick. If Foreman had problems with 32-year old and "slower" Ali, he'd be messed up by '64 to '67 Clay.

That time. It is Cassius Clay over George.

Ali kept beating George to the punch. Ali was winning rounds and then he frustrated George who tried harder thus gassed out.

Old George was slower, threw far less punches and had worse foot movement. Clay would destroy him even if George could better pace himself.

Got to say Ali had a tremendous chin, he got hit by some of the hardest punchers ever, Shavers, Lyle, Foreman, Liston, Norton, Frazier, Cooper wow. That is why I think Ali will take Mike Tyson to deep waters and drown him.

Clay would dance around Foreman and pick him of for a 15 round UD. He wouldn't rope a dope like he did against foreman in 74, he would put on a master class of hit and don't get hit.

No, either way you have to believe that Ali would have still been Ali. Big George was great, but Ali was greater.

yep, am not sure if clay would b as genius as ali to have thought the rope a dope... for me age is always better than youth
