Floyd Mayweather has a valid point in a sense that Andre Ward is an Olympic Gold Medalist, World Champion, and a relative unknown to casual Boxing fans. The difference between Floyd and Andre is the fact that Floyd had Oscar Dela Hoya to face-off with on a marquee stage and Andre Ward has nobody.
Andre Ward is Twenty-Nine and when Floyd was Twenty-Nine he was fighting Zab Judah and Carlos Baldimor in two PPV fights that go under the radar to some degree, fans tend to forget that Judah, Baldiomr, and Gatti were Mayweather PPV fights as well, those just didn't produce the epic numbers.
Nonetheless, Floyd Mayweather has the benefit of being able to beat Oscar Dela Hoya, the biggest PPV attraction in the history of Boxing, and Andre Ward hasn't had that type of counterpart. The only fighter who Ward could possibly use as a stepping stone is Bernard Hopkins and it's obvious those two have a personal relationship and no intention on fighting each other.
Floyd Mayweather has contradicted himself countless times and I think the problem is more so the fact that Andre Ward is supporting Roberto Guerrero and not him. I'm sure if Ward supported Floyd they wouldn't have anything negative to say about him.
Haven't read the article bro but IMO, Floyd sees Ward edging closer to him and seeing the Son of God as the next big thing. Floyd doesnt want that. He wants to remain on top. He promised 6 more fights and having Ward at close range would affect his promotion. Anytime soon, we'll see the changing of the guards.
It sounds to me like good old fashioned jealousy and resentment. Andre Ward is a very good example of how a World Champion and Professional fighter carries himself. Ward goes to church with his family, he has class. What is so wrong with worshiping the way you choose with your family. Same things go for an individuals choices in life, Andre does not make obscene gestures at other fighters wives, because when Floyd does these acts in public he is demonstrating,them because of his shortcomings on the dating circuit and issues with women .A real man spends time with his family behaves himself, and is a gentleman , not like some circus clown. These are so called individuals that I would not waste a dime on to see them fight. I wish we had more fighters that were good examples to our youth instead of people that snivel and whine because they feel like they are losing luster. I would pay good money to see a Bernard Hopkins, Sergio Maravilla Martinez, and Andre Ward fight any day. These are great fighters and a credit to their sport, not someone who belongs in the city landfill. I do not care about someone's record or popularity. You are judged by others, by the company that you keep.

maybe it's also due to the fact that ward picked guerrero for his(floyd) upcoming fight (is it a prediction or he just rooted for guerrero i didn't really follow that story)

Now I've come to a conclusion that Mayweather PROLLY felt threatened by Ward's prediction. (And let's not forget that Ward is the #2 best boxer right now and his prediction has considerable significance in boxing atm)

Floyd is just being Floyd. That is how he gets people to watch his fights. He was in the same situation when he started. He was an excellent fighter, but no one was coming to see him. Then he started acting like a fool, hitting women, getting in other fighter's faces, and saying outlandish things and people started coming to see if anyone could shut him up. To his credit, he has the skills to stay undefeated. His first loss (if it ever comes) though, will see a huge decline in his marketability. Mark my words.
