How can I start a Boxing club in high school? READ QUESTION THOROUGHLY?

Your plan sounds good, but schools are very reluctant to allow any type of activity with the possibility for violence or injuries. One school in my area did have a boxing club though. I would talk with the Principal, assistant principals, and gym teachers to discuss the viability of something like this. Be careful how you approach it. I would talk about it from a physical fitness aspect, rather than a fighting/martial arts aspect.

BTW. I might not mention the possibility of sparring to any of the teachers or administrators at the school, since they may worry that allowing a club like this would be sanctioning off-campus fighting, and may open the school to being sued. I might only bring that up with club members after things got started.

Most schools would not allow such a club as it influences violence and over the years with all the school shootings its sort of dangerous. I would say at least try, but when my school had a club that just analyzed UFC after school it was banned due to violence. Maybe California is different because I do live in Colorado where two of the biggest mass shootings occurred. I say go for it, but follow all guidelines.

I recently started a girls lacrosse club at my school so i may be able to give you some advice but i do live in ohio so the requirements may be a bit different. I went and talked to my principal about starting the club in the early fall and she told me that i had to get a list of at least 30 people who were interested first before she would talk to me any further so i made a facebook event labeled "(the name of my town) high school girls lacrosse club" and put the information about the club in the event descriptikn and made the date like 2015 and invited all the girls in my school to it that i and one of my friends are friends with on facebook (which is alot!), and so we counted the girls who said they were going to the event as "interested". So after we got 30 girls i went back to my principal and she gave me a list of requirments such as: finding a teacher to attend each practice and essentially 'coach'. (So you are going to need to find a teacher who can show up to your club meetings), get each kids parents to sign a liability form (which i think you mentioned doing), Have a meeting after school with the kids interested to see if at least 15 of them are actually going to do it, and talk to the athletic administrator. So i suggest you talk to your principal and they will help give you a set of requirments to meet, i bet they could also do announcements about the club to see if anyone is interested because we also did that and if that doesnt work you can ask to hang up flyers for it since we also did that, you also need to see if the gymIs available after school on the days that you plan on practicing in it and make sure you have permission, you will have to have each kid buy their own equipment because the school wont pay for it unless its a team (at least that is what my school does). Umm let me think what else i had to do. Yes you will have to administrate those different positions, i think the treasurer might not have to be that big of a deal if each kid is responsible for his own equipment and everyone can always pitch in to buy mats or whatever you need, that is what we did when we needed equitment. You can make yourself the president. And yeah i hope this was helpful

u can try but theres a reason they have wrestling

I live in California if its relevant in any way. Anyway, I want to start a Boxing club in high school and I got a decent plan for it. The club meets once a week after school in the school gym and I'd make the members stretch, exercise, and I'd teach them how to Box. There won't be any sparring though, because I fear that the school would shut down or reject my club idea if there was any form of fighting. I do have a solution for any of the members that want to spar though. There's a Karate Dojo not too far from my high school that has a open sparring event once a month. Anybody that trains in any martial art style (including Boxing) can join, but people under 18 have to get their parents to sign a liability form and such but that's it. So if the club members want to spar, they should go to the open sparring event. I don't really have any problems trying to get it started other than getting people to help me start and run the club. Do you guys have any ideas on how to get people to help me start and run a club like this? The requirements are having a Founder/President (which will be me), a Vice President, a Treasurer, a Administrator, and one or two teachers to supervise the club and such. Also, does anybody have any idea how I can convince people to join? I have 5 years of Boxing training/experience. Well? Are there any flaws in my plan? Any advice?
