In an amateur boxing match are you pared with someone of the same ability?

Roughly around the same ability and weight, my coach every week at least 3rounds would put you in with people of a higher skill in order to challenge you and hopefully so you can learn from them.

However when other clubs are down I have had a major mismatch on a few incidents where the clubs have lied about weight and after speaking to the boxers I found this out. I have also been put in with people who were of a slightly lower ability of me when clubs are down as they was bullying an inexperienced lad by banging shots in before he had even had his first bout. I got put in to 'even it out' and get him to calm it down, this was a once off and the person never done it again in our gym.

I have also as an amateur sparred a wide range of pros who are brilliant to build up a sweat and earn but as a pro style is different to amateur you can pick up a lot of bad habits boxing them. Which is what was happening to me just before I quit and was boxing.

Yes, you have someone of the same weight.

Usually, yes.

99% OF THE TIME YOU ARE EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE YOU COULD FIND YOUR SELF IN A SITUATION WHERE YOU HAVE TO FIGHT SOMEONE WITH A LOT MORE EXPERIENCE SAY LIKE IF YOU ENTER A TOURNAMENT LOL VERY EXCITING LOL
