I think Canelo Alvarez is the biggest threat to Mayweather below 160 lbs. I question the wisdom of Floyd dropping back to 140 to fight guys like Broner, that strategy didn't end well for Roy Jones Jr., and Floyd has a similar style to that of Jones. If Mayweather allowed himself to go up and down in weight to fight different opponents, eventually he will suffer the same results that Jones did. Once a fighter ages and starts going up in weight, it is usually disaster to try and go back down. If didn't work well for Chris Byrd when he attempted to fight at cruiserweight after years as a heavyweight either. This theory makes Bradley and Broner serious opponents if Mayweahter does fight them.

Going up to 160 to fight Martinez is a different problem altogether. Mayweather might bite off more than he can chew at the higher weights and run into an opponent who can simply over power him, Alvarez will be the first test of this possible road to defeat for Floyd. If Mayweather fairs well against Canelo, Martinez may be the next opponent for Floyd. Time will tell, but one thing is certain, Mayweather's next five fights will be his most difficult of his career.

None of those really present a challenge to Mayweather in my opinion. Only thing any fighter in those weight classes can do is hope to land a lucky punch. For Martinez, he might be able to simply overwhelm Floyd with his size, speed, and power. Mayweather has limits and fighting Martinez would be extremely dangerous. He is just too big. Though, if Mayweather were to fight him that would be epic.

i think marquez, now that the world witnessed how effective heredia is, deserves a rematch w/ floyd.

bradley, he showed he got a great chin, and styles makes fights they say, so yea, he can give floyd some trouble, i think

martinez, though his chin was rocked by a big guy in chavez jr, i dont think floyd got that kind of punchin power...martinez got the speed, the punch, and the style...not to mention the size, and he said he's willin to go down 150...this may not be the megafight but sure this will be a big fight.

pacquiao... aw man, floyd could easily beat him nowadays, but if he can regroup himself again, gather himself altogether and regain what he lost, man, his work rate inside the ring can apply continues and tremendous pressure to floyd upto the last round, he may lose via decision but dude, the man can give us the fight everybody wants to see floyd fights... floyd will end up bleeding... floyd can shut all his critics w/ this fight, and who knows after a few years, we see him checking in the parkingson's disease ward.

Well, we know it is not Marquez. We saw that mismatch few years ago. Anyway, I think the biggest challenge for Mayweather at this point is Saul Alvarez. Despite Alvarez probably being the toughest challenge, I still don't think he will have what it takes to dethrone Mayweather.
