If a boxer were to accidentally kill his opponent, what would the consequences be?

No, the 'killer' won't get arrested, I think a boxer has died in the ring before, but it is a dangerous sport so the two know the risks of participatating in boxing. It's like bull-fighting, if one dies, does the bull get arressted? (Lol) or do the crowd kill the bull? No, of course not lol, so to answer your question: nothing, there aren't any consequences, but the ref would stop it before it gets too serious but if it is one punch and he instantly dies then there would be an investigation or something but come on he doesn't go jail - it's a risky sport, he didn't kill him for fun or something.

Take care, have a great day :)

There have been several ring deaths over the years and the man that survived did not have any criminal, legal or civil charges pressed against him. I can name a few Mancini-Kim Nov 1982, Pintor-Owen Sept 1980, Cruz-Perez Sept 1983, Griffith-Paret 2 1962, Hart-Denny June 1980. These a just a few that have occurred over the years. Each and every boxer fought again in the future. Now I can think of an incident were a boxer did not die as result of his injuries, however there was legal and criminal charges pressed. This being June 16 1983. The following occurred on the Duran-Davey Moore undercard in NYC. The fight was Luis Resto vs Billy Collins Jr. Resto was a soft punching journeyman and Collins was an up and coming contender. Resto brutalized Collins for 10 rounds. Collins career ended that night, he would go on to commit suicide under a year later. His eyes were both closed and he was pulverized throughout the contest. It was revealed after an investigation that someone removed the padding from his opponents gloves. Panama Lewis and Luis Resto were both suspended from boxing for life and spent time in prison for this.

Many boxers have died because of injuries in the ring.

There are no criminal charges filed against the winner.

I have never heard of any civil suits filed against the winner by the estate of the dead boxer.

I imagine the mental distress would haunt the winner for the rest of his life.

Nothing. Sergey Kovalev vs Roman Simakov is example. What a joke of a question, the fighter agrees to put his life on the line while signing the contract, the danger is part of the sport, no one is forcing anyone to get into the ring.

Its an accident. But you may still be imprionsoned. Involuntary manslaughter. However if someone filmed it and it looked like you were really attacking them hard. It may become murder. ...its hard to judge but usually some form of prison, and ur boxing career would be kinda over because who would really want to box with you after that! You'd be seen as far too violent!

Well everyone says it is fake so they would be pretty big. If its not fake I don't see why there should be any punishment since they do go in to fight with that risk.
