Mayweather vs Whitaker At Welterweight? My thoughts, Yours?

Although Whitaker is still hell for anyone even at Welterweight, I'd say Mayweather would have a good chance of taking a 2 out of 3 wins over him at this weight. Even though Mayweather's prime was at 140 and Whitaker's prime was at 135 and 140, Mayweather carried heavier weight classes a little better than Whitaker. Whitaker at Welterweight would use his ultra quick reflex as usual for his ducking and slipping but would tend to slug it out a bit since his Welterweight version changed his style up a bit. Mayweather somehow figures out how he can a few more clean and accurate shots in the very later rounds and Mayweather takes a very close Split Decision.

Now if this were at Lightweight, I'd say Whitaker would make Mayweather look slow(Something most boxers couldn't do) and take a Unanimous Decision. Whitaker beats him with the record of 2-0-1(draw) at Lightweight.

I think that Floyd Mayweather would outclass Pernell whitaker at welterweight. I see Floyd Mayweather winning by UD. Because he will counter punch Whitaker for 12 rounds. And he will be more active.

Whitaker

and btw lance armstrong passed plenty of drug tests too that doesnt mean anything if you knew who jmms strength and conditioning coach was you know hes on the jiuce and b hops like 50

I'd go with Sweet Pea because, all things being equal in speed and skill, he hits harder than Floyd.

At welterweight, we are talking about two fighters who are spectacular at that weight but the dominance they had in the lower weight divisions was even greater. At this weight, Pernell is a tad slower and his reflexes are blunter but it didn't matter as his opponents were still far behind him in speed. Mayweather seems to get better at welterweight and since his reunion with his father, he has looked like the Floyd of the 1990's.

Speed, Strength, Defensive Acumen, Reflexes, Timing are all even. When it comes to the trainer, game-plan, ACCURACY, and conditioning, it favours Mayweather. Pernell might have an advantage in foot speed.

This is a tactical fight. It is about who takes less and lands more. I favour Mayweather purely based on Floyd Mayweather Sr and Floyd Jr's Accuracy. I get the vibe, while they may throw the same amount, Mayweather will edge out Whitaker since he will connect more. Whitaker is incredible at anticipating punches but he does make occasional mistakes and lets some puches get to him. Mayweather will also make mistakes but he has a counter-measure and that is the abilty to deflect and parry the puch and shoulder roll. If all else fails, he can just let it hit his arms. Whitaker wasn't as good as Mayweather in the blocking, parrying and deflecting department.

Thats what l see. Mayweather might get to Whitaker more times. Whitaker depends on slipping and foot movement. Mayweather uses both too but isn't as good at it. He is superior when it comes to blocking, parrying and rolling punches. So basically, when Mayweather makes Whitaker pay for a mistake, he will hit him clean and that could be the only significant punch in every 3 to 4 rounds. When mayweather makes a mistake, Whitaker might get a glancing blow or hit Mayweather on the hands or arms which doesn't count as a landed punch. And Mayweather will most likey land more as he is well known not just neing superb defensively just as Whitaker, but he is effective offensively in terms of accuracy. May is also the more fundamentally sound fighter.

I see cards of 116-113, 116-114 or even 116-115 for Mayweather. They will just be too many even rounds here. That my pick anyways. Just an assumption of their techniques and how they would mash up against each other.
