Donald Curry that beat Milton McCrory and Oscar DeLa Hoya that defeat Fernando Vargas. 12 rounds welterweight division.

Hello sir and excellent match up! Donald Curry and Oscar De La Hoya were both brilliant amateur and the later professional fighters and both won World titles with De La Hoya winning titles in sevaral weight classes. Curry finished with a career record of 34-6-0 with 25 kayo;s with wins oer McCrory, Starling, Stafford and La Rocca and De La Hoya finihsed with a career record of 39-6-0 with 30 kayo's with wins over Vargas, Sturm, Gatti, Quartey, Gatti, Carr, Chavez, Whitaker, Camacho, and Leija so De La Hoya was obviously in more big time fights against top flight competition. I believe Curry is the stronger man and both are about equal as far as hand speed and punching power. De La Hoya has the better chin so this is how I see this fight going:

The Fight

Curry would start off strong and impose his will but De La Hoya would have some good moments landing some crisp and hard shots. Going into the 9th round this would be practically an even fight with a lot of action. In round 10 De La Hoya would land a great left hook sending Curry down to the canvas for a brief count. Curry would make it to his feet but would be in no condition to continue forcing the referee to halt the contest.

Winner TKO10 Oscar De La Hoya

Curry was a much better fighter than De La Hoya.

He did not win the Olympics because of the Carter boycott, so he did not have the media attention of a De La Hoya but he did have more skill and much more power and would win this fight.

If Pacquiao could stop him then Curry would do so in less time.

oscar was a very good fighter @light weight /light welter but not great at welter and curry was a big welter weight so oscars advantages of height height wouldn't apply plus curry was a very good fighter till honeyghan beat him up he was never the same after that fight so i'm going with curry by points or late stoppage around the 10th

Sigh, I hate to say this....

Donald Curry could get hit with the left hook. He didnt take it often and usually took it well.

But you CANNOT let any left hook of Oscars land on you, at any time. Its an instant drop if he does.

Im gonna slightly, BARELY slightly give this to DLH.

Oscar de la hoya!

i would have to say donald because i dont really like oscar
