Since Mayweather/ De La Hoya, his opponents have all made career payday vs him...although, the money hasn't been comparable to what he makes. Not to mention, the fights have raised many of their profiles. Canelo, is now a PPV fighter thanks in part to his Mayweathrt association. Maidana will make more money this fight because of his first fight.

On paper Canelo made $10 million b/c he brings fans/money to the table, same goes for Cotto (who made $8 million). Both got PPV points as well, which ups their purse.
