Razor Ruddock(before his wars with Mike Tyson) vs Prime Tommy Morrison?

This would be a pick em gamble of a fight to bet on. The time they fought both fighters were just a punch away from victory and defeat so this fight would be much the same, one that easily go either way.

Ruddock had great power but was very limited. At one point he actually did have skill, but he fell in love with his power and became a one dimensional slugger. He wouldn't bother jabbing and would just load up and throw one telegraphed left hand haymaker at a time. If he used his brain (and his right hand) against Tyson he could have made things interesting.

Morrison had power but was also pretty limited and never really beat anyone with a pulse. If he fought a Prime Ruddock I would favor Ruddock because he had a much better chin than Morrison.

I think Morrison would have whacked Ruddock, Donovan took too many shots and Morrison was if nothing else a heavy puncher.

Well, since Morrison did TKO Ruddock in the 6th rd, gotta go with Tommy. :)

I don't see much of a difference happening earlier in either man's careers. Ruddock's main claim to fame was mixing it up a bit with Tyson before being destroyed, and Morrison was an overrated white dude who's greatest claim to fame was beating (barely) a real old Foreman and that Rocky movie.

Very few people give Ruddock credit as an overall boxer because he never won any of the world championship belts but people tend to forget that he was avoided by top Heavyweight contenders and even some world champions. This is not to say that Ruddock was great. He was a good contender with devastating punching power and Ruddock wasn't the same fighter after the Tyson fights. As much as I like Morrison, I don't think he would've had an easy time stopping Pre-Tyson Ruddock in the late rounds like he did in the actual fight. I think Ruddock before Tyson would have a good chance of knocking out Morrison in the middle rounds.

What do you guys think?
