Showtime plans on Canelo fighting 3 straight PPV cards. Is this a good idea for someone coming off a loss?

Everyone loses to Floyd lol. Anyone who knows anything about boxing predicted Floyd winning a fairly easy UD.

The point in that fight was to make money and to give Canelo experience.

I think it's perfect fine to have his next 3 fights PPV.

I really want him to take on Lara after the Angulo fight!

It's fine if all parties are happy with 250-350k buys. The problem lay with the poor promotional job GBP has done and the only legitimate shot he had of breaking through to star status in America went out the window with his bad loss to Floyd. Canelo could win this bout then spend the next 18 months taking out all the champs at 160 and he still wouldn't be a star in the U.S. Given that, it's best to maximize his revenue now so all parties can get a proper return for their investment in his career before the next loss puts him on premium cable indefinately.

There's no shame losing a fight when you give out 20 lbs. of flesh in your opponent's favor.

Canelo is aldready a PPV material. Fact is his coming fight with Angulo is a mile better than Floyd vs. Maidana.

First of all, he lost to Floyd so that doesn't mean much.

Second, Canelo is a superstar so if he can sell a PPV then why not?

It doesn't matter if he lost. He can still sell.

He had the 3rd largest fan base behind Mayweather and Pacquiao. He can sell. Losing to the P4P king is no shame. I bet he beats everyone else at 154 besides floyd. Mark my words.

IMO, PPV is a ripoff to the true boxing fan. Next Canelo's mother will be highlighted on PPV.

I don't know how much credibility Canelo will have after that pathetic showing vs. Mayweather. I mean how impressive will it be to beat B-listers? Until he can beat Pacquiao, Bradley, or Mayweather, he's a second-tier boxer.

fight 1 angulo: canelo win

cotto beat martinez

fight 2: canelo beat cotto

fight 3: canelo beat unbeaten quillin

that is the plan

yeah.. PPV next 3 fights , but under FLoyds Cards... whaoa

It's not risky. Canelo has a huge following. All of Mexico. They will pair him with cans if they have too.

I know he's still considered the future of boxing but he did get badly beat by Floyd yet he's right back on PPV against Alfredo Angulo, and it's been announced that all 3 of his next fights will be PPV.

Is this a risky move by Showtime? You guys think that his fight with Angulo should be PPV with him coming off such a one-sided defeat to Mayweather?

What do you guys think?

He won't be on any more PPV's for a while once El Perro whoops that ***. These are all dependant on consecutive victories.

It's cool with me. He didn't get beat too bad, he's still fully healthy. No harm done other then his ego. He gonna need to reprove himself anyway.
