Many people have good lists, it's important to note that boxing match making is strategic thus many great fighters were avoided before becoming greats. In recent history i recall Paul Williams, Pryor, Kostya, Casamayor, among others.

Still; the most avoided boxers ever were a group of men known as ''The Black murderers row''.

These were fighters who fought after Jack Johnson expanded segregation in boxing and before Joe Louis ended it. They were racial minorities from afro-americans to Caribbean.

Charley Burley, who never got a title shot, comes to mind. The man gave prime Archie Moore a boxing lesson at middleweight!

Charley Burley, takes all ten spots. The list of boxers and their calibur that ducked fighting him says more of how scary he was. Billy Conn, Jake LaMotta and Sugar Ray Robinson wanted nothing to do with him and ALL avoided him.

I dont care who you put at 2-10....HE is number one.

i can't give you 10 But Sonny liston is definitely #1 & george foreman follows. i heard marciano's opponents mothers used to pray before they fought him im sure they wasnt in a rush to fight him either. Mike tyson's opponents was scared of him but i wouldn't say they avoided him cause they wanted that check & they felt like they had something to prove
