I've already read that they are trying to work this out. Both are Golden Boy fighters and I think that Matthyse should be the mandatory for Garcia's WBC belt. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't there next fight.
I don't think either fighter is over rated. Garcia has defeated Judah, Morales twice, Khan, Holt and Campbell in his last 6 fights. While Matthysse looked good blasting out Peterson, Garcia has a better resume on paper.
Hopefully it happens. Current ring belt holder and number one in the division verses the best boxer in the division. I agree with you that Garcia is overrated and I don't think it would take Mathysse long to get him out of there. I'd pick Mathysse by 5th round KO
I think it's very good. Matthysse wants it, and Golden Boy has wanted it for a long time.
I also don't think it's coincidence that Matthysse signed w/ the GOD Al Haymon (who also manages Danny Garcia).
So basically everyone wants the fight, and it's been the plan for awhile. If it doesn't happen, then this is definitely a situation where Danny Garcia completely ducked Matthysse.
I don't think D. Swift will duck anybody, despite the fact he looked shook after Matthysse blasted out Peterson.
Chances are very weak, where an estimated 10 - 20%
I hope they make this fight happen because Garcia is overrated. And the real test will be Mathysse
