What chance do you give Paulie Malignaggi to pull off the upset vs Broner?

Ill give the obvious answers that Paulie has in his favor.

Broner will not be the heaviest hitter that Paulie has fought, by a long shot. As a matter of fact, even though Paulie is not heavy handed..because Broner is coming up two weight divisions Paulie may actually hit harder than what Broner is used to. Lets remember Broner is a star by consequence, he hasnt really fought anyone either and was handed the crown by stardom, not by earning it.

Also, although Broner likes to do his "Floyd impression" he is no Floyd. He doesnt have Floyds feet and cant cross a ring as fast..which is why he is forced to sit on his punches more. He cant change distance as quick. So he will have to follow Paulie.

That said.....

Unless Paulie suddenly found his identity and his balance in his feet, I dont think he has it in the tank to beat Broner. I would have given the Paulie that fought Cotto a much better shot, although I would still pick him to lose.

But hey, he may sit down on his punches and surprise everyone. Since Broner is untested at his own weight by high calibur fighters, we really dont know that his power is that evident, much less that it can transfer up two weight classes.

I dont think Broner will have the power at 147 and chances are, these two will just slap each other for 12 rounds.Paulie cant crack an egg. Broner has an edge in power but Paulie is one tough ***. Going 12 rounds against prime Cotto is no easy task.

What chance do you give Paulie Malignaggi to pull off the upset vs Broner?

The brilliance of Paulie might prevail and stop Broner's winning streak. I had Malinaggi as a live underdog here.

BQ: Winner of this fight vs Marcos Maidana?

-This is the problem if PAulie gets through Adrien. If MAidana touches him, he might fold. Remember Paulie is a bleeder. Marcos will bulldoze his way to Paulie until the ref halts the bout or Paulie's corner throws in the towel. The judges mights just be looking forward to this match LOL and thus gives Broner the Split D over Paulie for a possible fight vs the hard punching Maidana.

I can see this going the full 12, and for once I can see the good little un beating the good big un. Haven't really followed both boxers but from what I can tell Broner, in his fight against Rees experienced more power and pressure than malignaggi could even hope to put against him, and malignaggi can only really win a fight on points which against someone as gifted as Broner I just cannot see happening. I have Broner winning by UD. BQ Maidana I think is the hardest hitting 10 stoner in the world right now so a lightweight to go against him in his first couple of fights at welterweight is an immense risk. After a few fights at the new a weight and after experiencing a few good hits to the chin he will be ready no doubt but to go against a full powered welter weight right away is a terrible idea. That's why he picked Paulie where the fight will be won on pure boxing ability. Not power. Maybe khan afterwards. See if can is able to out speed a lightweight or if he just gets caught situation shot he doesn't see coming.

I like Paulie too, he's a good fighter and talks a good game. I'm definitely picking Broner though, b/c he's literally better at everything than Paulie is.

Look at Paulie's resume, he's never beat an elite fighter besides Juan Diaz, and he gets beat down by the highest level of fighters he goes up against.

Dude could barely beat Pablo Cesar Cano in his backyard. Cano is a C-level fighter that most people had beating Malignaggi (I had it 114-113 Cano), and is the same guy who just clearly lost to a completely shot Shane Mosley.

Everytime Paulie gets in a "money" fight, he always talks people into thinking he'll win. He can outbox Hatton b/c he's so slow and one-dimensional. HE can outsmart and outbox Khan to a decision...

He's not elite, Broner doesn't have the resume to be considered elite either, but he has the TALENT. Broner should tear him apart.

I give Paulie a good chance if Broner breaks his ankle walking into the ring, or if Broner has the worst chin ever and we didn't know about it.

BQ: Great fight. I'd take Broner, b/c Chino is one-dimensional and a lot slower. Less technical, and Broner will kill you to the body and Maidana has a hard time taking bodyshots IMO. In almost every fight he slows and gets hurt when you touch his ribs.

Paulie Malignaggi is a seasoned veteran. He has very good boxing skills, great footwork, slick, and fast. He has the advantage of experience in tough fights, and experience in the welterweight division. I think Paulie Malignaggi a 40% chance of pulling the upset. Adrien is probabl going to win though.

I don't give Paulie much of a chance. The Broner camp has done much research and they know they can beat Paulie. With this win he will get great publicity and it will set him up for some really big money fights in the near future.

With his experience fighting tougher though not necessarily talented and speedy guys like Juan Diaz, Miguel Cotto, Amir Khan, Cesar Pablo Cano and Vladeslav Senchenko with mixed results, I think Paulie has a veteran's chance of pulling off an upset over the prodigious but still a little behind the ear Adrien.

Paulie enjoys virtually no physical advantage over Adrien and the latter even has the edge in speed, skills and even power.

What Paulie has as leverage is his experience. And perhaps, his courage, pride and determination.

About the same chance I'd give an hamster against a bull terrier.

Paulette won't have the tools to solve The Problem, we're looking at another KO victory for Broner, I don't think it matters in this fight that he's just jumped 2 weight classes.

"He's gonna be throwing pillows and I'll be throwing bricks"

1st of...aint the 1st time for broner jumping weights... it's like you saw a ripe cherry on a tree so low, would you not jump to reach it? malignaggi's belt is an easy fight...why not jump and grab that cherry?

upset?..... maybe b/c most fans kn0ws the capability of both fighters inside the ring and the only way paulee would win is by an upset, nobody is invincible in the chin ya know!!!! sh!t happens, ei????

It's crazy to think that a world champion beating a kid coming up 2 weight classes would be considered an "upset" but as it turns out many people are already looking for Broner's next opponent after an expected win over Malignaggi.

I like Malignaggi and I'm really hoping he can pull it off by constantly moving, giving Broner different angles and keeping him off balance with his jab. Do you think Broner can carry his power/speed up to 147? Who do you pick to win and why?

BQ: Winner of this fight vs Marcos Maidana?
